Reina of Cordoví, proud to be Cuban
Talking about exceptional women in the Holguin municipality of Calixto García is not an easy matter, because the list of courageous women would be endless. Many of them are no longer physically here, like Clara Castillo, the first leader of the Cuban Women's Party (FMC) in the municipality. But today I want to dedicate these lines to a woman who, due to her humility and charisma, is very much loved by the people. I am referring to Reina Leyva López, secretary of one of the delegations of block 13 of Las Brisas.
Wilberto Antonio García is a hard-working and enterprising young man who defies the hot days of August and everything that stands in his way to get the brickworks of the Basic Business Unit (UEB) of the Holguín Construction Company “Domus” located in the Las Mantecas neighborhood up and running at full speed.
Car in hand, Yuliet Reyes Vega does not stop walking. Her work as pantry manager at the “Nicodemus Regalado León” Municipal Hospital in Buenaventura demands responsibilities. “She is dynamic, demanding, but I like it, I feel good,” confesses this young woman with a soft voice, but at the same time with the ability to add and commit. “We are a team, two men and I make up the work shift and nothing, ready and willing to do what we have to do.”
Colorful, joyful, and nuanced by the diversity of recreational options distinguished the activity dedicated to the girls and boys of Buenaventura that was based at the gastronomic unit "El Nocturno" in the municipality of Calixto García in Holguín.
