The 161st anniversary of San Agustín de Aguarás was celebrated in style in this town in the municipality of Calixto García. The day had a special moment with the premiere of the video clip, "Canción a San Agustín," by composer Iraldo Leyva Castro.

The performance was led by César Gotay, a resident of the town, and the audiovisual production by Osmany Pratts Gómez. The town, the humble and hardworking people of San Agustín, were the main protagonists of the celebration, and this was the emotional focus of the day's climax, which included performances by the Hermanos Ajo Organ, the Bombillo clown, the Swing group, and a rodeo in the afternoon.

The celebration of the birthday of San Agustín de Aguarás is the result of several people involved in a project well-led by the young teacher Yarismilka Marrero, who has taken on the task of rescuing local history, reviving it, exalting it, and sharing it with new generations.

The painter Antonio Morales, a son of the town and resident abroad, was recognized during the event.
