Mala Noche, a site of exalted history.
Mala Noche is a place that does not live up to its name, since it was the place chosen by our mambises to build the safest prefecture of the Liberation Army. There José Miró Argenter camped with his troops on the night of February 23 to restart the struggles for independence on the 24th. That is why every February 24 an allegorical act to commemorate the anniversary is held in this town in the Calixteña geography. On this occasion it became a provincial act and was attended by Joel Queipo Ruiz, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and its first secretary in the province of Holguín, together with Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera, Deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power and governor in the province of Holguín.
