Surely when you hear the words Kim Lien, your thoughts are transported to an Asian country, and you are not wrong because the expression indicates the name of the Commune where Ho Chi Minh was born, on May 19, 1890, who would become an independence leader. and founding member of the Communist Party of Vietnam, prime minister of the Republic between 1945-1955 and president from 1951 until his death, which occurred on September 2, 1969.
The brotherhood between the Vietnamese and Cuban peoples brought the aforementioned words to our archipelago, which designate various work and study centers, such as the primary school in the Las Casimbas neighborhood, in this municipality of Calixto García, which is serving Built 77 years ago and kept very well cared for.
Recently I was visiting said school, with the task of finding out details about the start of the current course.
The arrival coincided with recess time, and the bustle of a good part of the students gave a touch of overflowing joy to Kim Lien, very similar, as I have read, to the hustle and bustle of the tourists who tour the facilities of the house where President Ho Chi Minh was born and spent his early life, which is part of the national-level Kim Lien Memorial Complex.
After greeting several of the students and workers, we established a dialogue with the director of the Center, Master in educational sciences Reynaldo Casanova Vela, who referred to topics of great interest: “the course started very well, because we began to prepare it the first days of August with the various workers, the family, the community, it is true that we have some resource limitations but that will not cause the 91 students we serve to have difficulties in learning, here we have all the necessary specialties to achieve the supreme objective, educate and teach.”
In all teachings, the presence of educational psychologists is important, those who assist students with character situations. Master Eduardo Parra Campo, who is also a Master, comments on what has been done: “This is a school with very few student problems, there is one case and they are working punctually with their teachers and their families, I have full confidence that they will soon be integrated into all the group's activities."
In any type of school, the tasks performed in the libraries are highly valued. In the small but very well-organized premises, we found the university student Leidys Martínez Cable, who, somewhat nervous, referred to her work: “Despite of the situation that the country presents, in our institution we have the essential resources to successfully carry out the educational teaching process, today in the library we contribute a lot in something as decisive as instilling the habit of reading, especially with works of great importance. worth".
When we were saying goodbye, several students were talking in the center square, a teacher who was nearby told us that they wanted us to interview them. Some ran away but others remained firm to the request, among them Marlanis Sánchez, a sixth-grade student, who very easily told us: “The course is going very well, we have all the teachers, the books and notebooks, now we are going to study a lot.” to get to secondary school well.”
Commenting on the work in the information department, colleague Artemio Leyva asked us to clarify something, since more than half a century ago, he attended fourth, fifth and sixth grades there: “María Armas and Artemio Hernández were examples of true teachers, they did not impose respect , they achieved it with love and delicacy, although when you went too far they put you in the place you needed to be. "I could forget many things in life, except those years when I was a student at Kim Lien."
The weather is always relentless, but at a good time this magical flight from the Vietnamese Commune where the Hero Ho Chi Minh was born, to the neighborhood of Las Casimbas, in this Holguín municipality of Calixto García, where teachers, students and support workers from the outstanding Kim Lien school, pay daily tribute to the eternal Uncle Ho.
