With the commitment to provide a superior course in quality and results in the educational teaching process, the opening ceremony of the 2024 school year was held at the Calixto García Municipal University Center.
Chaired by Leonardo Batista Pupo, First Secretary of the Party in the territory, and Ronny Pérez Rojas, Mayor, the board of directors and the race leaders were presented, a team that will be led once again by Doctor of Science Rodolfo González Ortega.
Likewise, the most outstanding professors and students were recognized, as well as those who excelled in research and whose greatest prize is having achieved scientific degrees, academic titles and teaching categories.

On this occasion, Sebastián Zayas Infante received the honor for having achieved the scientific degree of Doctor in agricultural sciences, and Mayelín González Ricardo received the academic title of Postgraduate Specialist in management of the development of labor training.
The master's degrees Ana María Pérez Almaguer and Julio César Fernández Rosado received recognition for achieving the teaching category of Assistant Professor and Doctors Araíz Maturell Aguilera and Elizabeth Janet Pérez Hill for obtaining the teaching category of Full Professor.
The director of the Doctor Rodolfo González Ortega Center welcomed students and teachers and called on them to make the most of the opportunity offered by the new school year. “I encourage you to take advantage of every day you spend here, cultivate your passion for learning, maintain your passion for learning and never underestimate the power of your own determination”
And he added “We are all excited to be part of this academic journey and we are here to support you every step of this long path, we wish you all a course full of achievements and unforgettable moments, welcome.”
At the opening ceremony of the course at the Municipal University Center dedicated to the 171st anniversary of José Martí's birth, poems and songs were heard in tribute to the most universal of all Cubans.
