Ensuring the stability of the water service to the people is a priority and this is what is being worked on from the Holguin municipality of Calixto García.

This was highlighted to this reporter by Alexander Peña Ávila, Director of the Aqueduct in the Calixteño territory. In the midst of the energy contingency and in the face of the passage of Tropical Storm Oscar, every detail was specified to maintain the vitality of the important liquid. In this sense, it was possible to stabilize the water supply through the networks, from the Las Lajas water treatment plant and offer a complete cycle from the School Center in Buenaventura to Las Barías.

With the restoration of the electric service, Peña Ávila asserted, the possibilities to reach more clients are expanded. Today it is a different situation and since early Tuesday morning the planned pumpings return to normal in response to the progress of energy. "Insist that the electric current will be prioritized in the places where the pumping stations are located to maintain the service.

And he added: In the case of services through solar panels, they are already gradually being put into operation, as is the case of those enabled in Las Calabazas and Jagüeyes, the latter having a great weight in the water supply apart from Buenaventura.

According to Félix Hernández González, a resident of the Centro escolar district in Buenaventura, water has been completely available. I am a client of the point located near the Ponchera and there has been no shortage and with quality, what would be good to analyze is the possibility of having a tank of greater capacity because many neighbors get their water from here.

In the middle of work we found Rafael Domínguez, an Acueducto worker always willing to give his best. For me it is a pleasure to work, and when they call me I am here to provide the service to the people as they deserve, no matter the day or the hour.
