Contributing to food production is a priority of the Union of Young Communists (Ujc), which is why its different movements or organizations join initiatives to support current tasks.
With this objective, the Student Work Brigade was formed, which this Sunday reached lands belonging to the Calixto García Livestock Company located in the vicinity of the Guayabo Crossing.
The day was classified as very fruitful according to José Carlos Ocampo Acosta, Municipal President of Feem. "Faced with a provincial call, we decided to activate our students and offer the contribution this time in planting cane, an area that today is vital to ensure animal nutrition and the contribution was fruitful."
During the day, approximately half a hectare of cane was planted, highlighted the youth leader, and actions are being taken to continue carrying out productive days. "Happy with what was achieved with the competition of students from the Armando Valle Pre-University Institute, the Juan Carlos Polytechnic Center Batista and the René Orestes Reyné Agricultural Polytechnic Institute and it is a way for Feem to feel useful, committed and eager to speak out."
According to Miguel González, First Secretary of the UJC in the territory, the student work Brigade called "Calixto García" will be activated again next Friday, May 31. "Satisfied with what was achieved in the opening of these tasks and we are already coordinating for future contributions in which the young Calixteños will return from the furrow to offer a Yes for Cuba
