The delegates to the Municipal Assembly of People's Power in an extraordinary session and through direct and secret vote, elected Ricardo Rodríguez González as the new deputy to the Cuban parliament for the Holguin municipality of Calixto García.
The young man is 23 years old, with an excellent career, is a student at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Camagüey, and currently serves as National President of the Federation of University Students (FEU).

Since joining the University of Medical Sciences of Camagüey, Ricardo Rodríguez González has held various responsibilities. He stands out for his results in scientific events, has scientific publications and held the responsibility of Executive Editor of the Scientific Student Magazine Progaleno. He is a member of 7 honorary chairs, including the Multidisciplinary Anti-Drug Chair, the Martiana Chair, the Fidel Castro Chair, and the Carlos J. Finlay Chair.
He was elected Delegate to the 19th Festival of Youth and Students at the provincial level, to the 9th Congress of the CDR, to the 19th Latin American and Caribbean Congress of Students, in Caracas, Venezuela in 2022, to the 10th Congress of the FEU, being elected member of the National Secretariat of the FEU and approved as National Vice President of the FEU, to the University Congress 2024, to the World Youth Festival 2024 in Sochi, Russia. He participated in the Regional Congress of Higher Education in Brasilia, CRES +5 2024 and in the 12th Congress of the UJC, where he was approved as a member of the National Committee of the Organization, and currently National President of the Organization.

The delegates from Calixto, when analyzing the candidate proposal, expressed their satisfaction that a young man with excellent qualities as a revolutionary represents the municipality in the Cuban parliament.
The process of electing the new deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power is being developed to fill a vacant seat, so now she will represent the people of Calixto in the tenth legislature of the Cuban parliament, together with Omara Velázquez Carralero, president of the CCS Cristino Naranjo de Jagüeyes, the young Ricardo Rodríguez González, National President of the FEU.
