So much so that for the young teacher Maité Ávila Velázquez what happened at her school is unforgettable, her students, family, community, “it is an honor that this educational institution was chosen among many that are in the municipality, it is a rejuvenated place, which always has its doors open to teach and educate; it is known that our country is going through difficult times but our job is to keep the Revolution high because it is what we have had to live through and we will not disappoint the people who have given us the seed to sow the future with vitality,” she says excitedly.

And what better place to pay tribute to than the one that bears the worthy name of the mother of the Apostle of Cuban independence, reflects Yumaris Pino Tamayo, member of the Municipal Bureau of the Party, “we are summoned here by the history of the country, 133 years ago Martí gave his vibrant speech in which he pointed out the idea of unity with the participation of all, and that unity is what we must maintain as a light, hence the palm that we planted today is a symbol of commitment, that palm to which he referred in his speech at the Cuban Lyceum of Tampa when he said, “it is my dream, it is the dream of all; The palms are brides who wait and we must put justice as high as the palms.”
At the commemoration, which became a public event, personalities from the Jagüeyes neighborhood were recognized and the career of teacher Yaimara Gómez Ramírez was highlighted, who received a national award at an event for the rural sector that took place in the province of Camaguey.
