The main avenue of Buenaventura, in the municipality of Calixto García, was painted today with colors and hopes in homage to the man of the Golden Age.
Children of various ages dressed as unforgettable characters from Martí's work starred in a colorful and enthusiastic parade which the town joined every year.
Children even came to the Moscow movie theater in Buenaventura to enjoy a varied cultural proposal with the competition of artistic creation projects that amateurs brought to the stage in an emotional tribute to the Cuban Apostle.
The occasion allowed pioneers to be recognized for their activism and to award the January 28th status. The pioneer tribute to the great teacher also became a commitment of the new generation in the voice of Diogney Quesada, President of the José Martí Pioneers Organization.
