Members of the National Directorate of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) held a lively discussion with workers at the La Gloria mini-industry, in which they discussed the production results, working conditions, and the quality of each of the processes they currently undertake to maintain more than twenty agricultural-derived food products.

Roger Peña Peña, Administrator of this mini-industry, which belongs to the Cristino Naranjo CCS, offered an overview of the current results and the tireless efforts to remain profitable in challenging, but not impossible, times.

In particular, the exchange provided a unique opportunity to learn about the leadership of young people like Juan Alberto Carralero Capote, who make a daily commitment. "I like what I do and I enjoy it. My passion is in the kitchen, supporting what is prepared there, but if there's another task to be done, I take it on with a willingness and a desire to move forward."

The visit, led by Jesús Morales Echavarría, a UJC national staff member, also included the "Los Zapaticos de Rosa" daycare center, where they learned about the work of educational assistants and support staff in providing care to approximately 150 children.

[Members of the National Directorate of the Union of Young Communists learned about the operation of the "Los Zapaticos de Rosa" daycare center] Members of the National Directorate of the Union of Young Communists learned about the operation of the "Los Zapaticos de Rosa" daycare center.

Mayelín Tejeda, Deputy Director of the educational facility, explained details of the current training process and the commitment of the staff, the vast majority of whom are women, to comprehensive early childhood education.

She asserted that in its 24 years of existence, the daycare center has become a guarantee for working mothers, and this recognition inspires them to develop new ways of carrying out a program that is the essence of the solidarity, humanistic, and empowering work that distinguishes the nation.

The visit of the UJC's National Directorate to Calixteño territory is part of the implementation of the strategy to strengthen the comprehensive work of youth. Therefore, maintaining the connection, learning about expectations, results, aspirations, and concerns is also a way of attending to these new initiatives that today are building and contributing through the most diverse employment modalities.
