(Archive images)This Saturday, June 29, the opening activities for summer 2024 will begin throughout the country, a space for recreation and leisure for the entire population. The Municipal Directorate of Sports, Physical Culture and Recreation in this Holguin municipality of Calixto García has already presented the project for this stage where actions will be developed for adults and children.
José Alfredo Reyes Noris, recreation methodologist in this territory highlighted the various options that will be made available to the people of Calixto García. “On this occasion, a total of 22 recreational areas will operate in all the popular councils, of which 12 will do so permanently, which will ensure that on each day those attending them can have several recreation opportunities.”

“It is our purpose to carry out soccer, domino, children's baseball, softball cups, as well as programs to play and participate” said Reyes Noris.
For his part, Rafael Braffo Álvarez, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Recreation, indicated where the main spaces will operate “Here in Buenaventura, the Carlos Rodríguez Sports Complex will have the greatest prominence, although there will also be areas in La Alegría – Las Barías, Barrio Nuevo, Villa Magalis – Irene and Loma del Muerto”.

As is traditional in this summer season, central activities will be developed to celebrate Children's Day, the festivities for the Day of National Rebellion, the birthday of our eternal Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and the anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women.
