The Popular Council of Las Calabazas in the municipality of Calixto García was the venue for the national defensive day with the objective of preparing the troops of the state organs and organisms, economic entities and social institutions, as well as political and mass organizations.
To this end, activities were developed aimed at complying with preventive measures in exceptional situations, at patriotic military education and at the specification, elaboration and improvement of combat documentation.
Among the actions carried out was the presentation by Dania Cecilio Carballosa Pupo, director of the Calixto García Afroforestry UEB of their missions to be fulfilled in the stage of systematic wear and tear.
Likewise, pioneers from the Luis Saiz Monte de Oca school demonstrated skills in first aid, initiatives from the Popular Council for food production were presented, the children's playhouse was activated and strategies were specified with the political-ideological work group.
As part of the closing of the defensive day, Odalis Murray Oberto, Director of the Luis Saiz Montes de Oca school, the venue of the day, reaffirmed the unity and patriotic convictions of the residents of Las Calabazas on behalf of all the people of Calixteño to continue advancing and achieving greater results in the midst of the aggressive imperial policy.

At the end of the meeting, Leonardo Batista Pupo, President of the Municipal Defense Council praised what was done and called to continue defending the country from each of the trenches.
