In Cuba, since the pandemic began, only the 60th National Baseball Series has been completed, the rest of the national, provincial and municipal championships were suspended, just after the pandemic began.

However, many of the workers in this sector have changed their social mission, and a smaller group has continued to work in their special areas, but with small groups, the so-called talents.

This idea of ​​the national direction of INDER has been fully fulfilled in our municipality of Calixto García, where dozens of technicians have faced changes in their social mission, supporting the Ministry of Public Health in investigations, vector control, and most importantly, for the high level of risk, work in isolation centers, in the so-called red zone.

An example is the work carried out by the professors of the Sports Combined of the Popular Council of Mir. “In the mornings we alternate in agricultural work in the local garden, at noon we bring the lunch prepared by the Gastronomy dining room for vulnerable people, most of them grandmothers and grandparents, and the last hours of the afternoon, we dedicate them to work with talented students, who, complying with the measures established by the Covid, cannot be more than five ”, commented Freddy Echavarría Tornés, a Badminton specialist in the aforementioned complex.

This mixed center of Calixtean physical culture, in addition to Mir, serves the popular councils of Monte Alto and Sabanazo, which cover the entire southern geography of the municipality.
