Forces and wills are joined in the collective of the Urban, Suburban and Family Agriculture Base Business Unit to rescue productions that can expand the offers that are now achieved in authorized points of sale in the Holguin municipality of Calixto García.

For example, in areas of the Cruce de Mir a new orchard is set up and for this purpose the clearing of areas plagued with marabou, aroma and other invasive species that inhabit these areas is undertaken.

"In the place fences were installed in the surroundings, and to delimit the chambers destined to the production of vegetables, slabs were arranged", explains Daniel Velázquez Rodríguez, head of the brigade that executes these constructive actions.

"We work hard because on the ground we encountered many obstacles that almost prevented rapid and effective progress, but thanks to the will of these men, little by little we are winning so that in the end it is the people who benefit."

The seed farm also received the expected boost. " We recover almost the entire area, for this we use ourselves thoroughly; We did maintenance, weed, and added topsoil, this is a place that others depend on, hence the importance of maintaining its vitality, ”said Pastor Toranzo Pratts, heads of the other brigade that undertakes the work there.

In the area of ​​Cruce de Mir there has been an orchard for some time that has produced crops of aubergine, lettuce, chard, chili peppers, garlic joint, chives among others that complement the diets of the nursery school, the hospital and other facilities that deserve to be protected without neglect the points of sale for the population.
