Calixteño Rafael Cabrera Silva, from the La Esperanza neighborhood, in the Holguin municipality of Calixto García, arrived today for his 109th blood donation, a contribution that he shared with donors and workers from the bank authorized in the rehabilitation room of the town of Buenaventura .
For him, his contribution has great value, that is why he is satisfied to donate for everyone who needs it.
“It is a work of more than 40 years that I do with immense satisfaction because I know that in this way I help people who need it and I feel useful. And he assures: “I am already close to six decades of life, but as long as my health allows it, I will be extending my arm to collaborate with others. It is my modest contribution and I do it from the heart. "
His beginnings, he told me with eloquent words, were during his participation in the military service and although time has passed, he remains active like the first day because, as he himself assures, every drop of blood counts: “With the Covid pandemic 19 we must collaborate, now more than ever, among all for the prompt recovery of patients ”.
Like Rafael, other members of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution of the town of Buenaventura also came to join in this generous task, admired by the people.
