Together with the local branch of Public Health, workers of the Commerce Company of the municipality of Calixto Garcia have been promoting sound habits thru actions in the communities of that westernmost jurisdiction of Holguin province.

With the goal of taking up responsible behaviors and preventing health troubles, shopkeepers have been spreading sanitary messages in the community to make people become aware on the perception of risks.

In Buenaventura – the municipal headtwon, one can see shopkeeper Mirelis Leyva Peña at La Distinguida shop, explaining to the people "the significance of chlorinating water, of properly cleaning their houses, the handling of food and the right use of balanced diets."

The local leaders, aware on the need of improving people's living and working conditions, have refurbished 24 places of gastronomy services, which today look like new and give better services.

They have also worked on the steady supply of products for the clearing of houses and state or private premises.
