Santa IfigeniaThere are circumstances in life that make human beings great, and events that go deep in our hearts, endure in time, accompany us and become part of our lives. The same happens when we live important moments, they remain in our memory and it is always good to share them so that others also have the satisfaction of being part of them.

It is so that in days past I lived one of those moments that will never forget. I could appreciate how the feelings are not instilled but they are born like inexhaustible spring. Two children with only eight years of age expressed their infinite love for the historical leader of the Revolution.

Lorena Perez Leyva gave her verses to the eternal Commander-in-Chief and Alejandro Leyva Perez, she performed the song "Riding with Fidel" and they did it with such force and respect that it seemed to revive the story of the young rebel, the invincible guerrilla.

Perhaps these little ones would have done it over and over, in their schools, in front of their family, or somewhere else, but that was the ideal scenario, the walls of the Santa Ifigenia cemetery would be the best witness. There, in front of the monument that holds the ashes of the highest leader of the Revolution, with the innocence of being children, and with the dignity of being born in this land, they remembered him and paid homage.

And it is not because these infants come from long roots, as the teacher José Martí said, because their parents and grandparents are children of this Revolution like so many others, but because that patriotic feeling when it is true is born, springs and multiplies.

When asked Lorena why she dedicated her verses and deposited a flower said "I do to thank Fidel for having my school, I love my nursery school Los Zapaticos de Rosa and my big school" she says.

Lorena, is one of those girls who have a special charisma and a natural gift of being spontaneous and familiar, and her cousin Alejandro, raised from his early years in Havana, is intelligent, intrepid, fond of Soccer, lover of history and with A sincere love for Fidel.

Today his grandfathers, Florinda and Artemio, proudly display this image that was recorded for the story, and Lorena and Alejandro, when they grew up, will show everyone the picture tell that they were there, in the sacred site of the Commander in Santiago de Cuba, the best gift.

So when I think that Fidel is no longer physically, I think of children like Lorena and Alejandro, and the hundreds who like them know how to love and recognize the man who knew how to win the hearts of Cubans.
