The National School Games, recently concluded, were a reliable expression of what is done in terms of sports in this Holguin municipality of Calixto García.
A total of three Calixteños represented this territory in Rhythmic Gymnastics Sport, Badminton and Taekwondo, all with very good results, although it is necessary to emphasize that the most outstanding performance was of the taekwondoca Eugenio Enrique Ruiz Hernández, silver medalist in this contest.

It was a difficult competition, I was at the beginning a little nervous because it was my first time, but everything went well.
You only lost the fight for the gold medal with the representative of Santiago de Cuba, how was that fight?
It was good, I think I won, my coach and the public said so, but the referees voted for him, anyway I am very happy.
Since when do you practice this sport and why did you choose it?
About three years ago. I always liked to kick everything I was on the road, to a tree, a wall. With the school friends I loved to measure my strength, and one day the school teacher saw me and I started.
You are very young and you have a whole future ahead, goals that you have proposed?
I would like to continue training and reach the Cuban team and represent our country in international events.
And become an Olympic Champion?
Yes, that would be nice.
What athlete would you like to be?
So far as none in particular, just be disciplined and give everything in the competitions. I would like to be admired and loved by people.
