Eugenio Piloto Tamayo is one of many Calixteños who left his village behind and went to retired homes, where he builds a better family life in the company of his wife Marbelis Cruz Cisneros and one of his three children.

Skills and strength in his right hand allow him to carry out any work in the attention to the crops and the handling of the bovine herd, to which he dedicates more than 10 hours of each day, to fulfill with the contracts of sale of banana, milk and meat with the Pedro Díaz Coello cooperative.

Laboriousness, honesty and attachment to the principles he learned alongside his parents, consolidated in the General Military Service, allowed him to reach the age of 18 as a militant of the Union of Young Communists, which he currently maintains as a member of the Communist Party of Cuba.

To say of this industrious husbandman, in his loving wife, with whom he has been married for 32 years, has in addition to the hand, the heart that not only helps him in his work, but inspires him in new projects because they both share the possession of more than 35 hectares of land that they received in usufruct in which they intend to produce much more.

In an isolated area known as Cayo Alto, on the border between the municipality of Calixto García and Cacocum, they built their hut and thanks to solar energy it is now possible for them to have the television signal, where they find moments of relaxation and instruction.
