The validity of self-employment as an employment option in the municipality of Calixto García is unquestionable, however, the local government administration carries out an evaluation of the conditions in which non-state activities are carried out.

To do this already in the municipality there are maps of the location of the areas with characteristics for their exploitation, organization of state structures that can help with the development of brick production, especially in the area located in the neighborhood of Las Mantecas, a about 6 kilometers from the town of Buenaventura.

The organization of self-employment also takes into account the implementation of a group of related activities that seek to reduce the existing dispersion and improve the scope of them. For example, in the beauty services, seven self-employment activities will be integrated: barber, make-up artist, masseur, manicure, hairdresser, braid hairstylist and traditional hairdresser.

From the grouping it will be possible to streamline and reduce administrative procedures, reduce documentation, and in turn, broaden the profile of activities by offering a more comprehensive service.

It also works to unify the transport activity, all those that are related to it, for example, flat tire repair, welder, among others.

In general, with the modifications that are foreseen, the control of the activities on their own from the municipal level to the national level is strengthened.

It is worth recognizing that this type of employment has not only facilitated the process of labor reordering, it has also managed to increase the supply of goods and services with acceptable levels of quality.
