asamblea X fmc aliuska caballero ricardo"Being integrated into the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) is a pride and a privilege not only for the opportunity to have an organization that represents and adds us, but because it allows us to maintain the leadership of Vilma Espin, the guerrilla of the Sierra Maestra" This is how the residents of the Pueblo Viejo neighborhood expressed in their X Congress Assembly.

Choosing from the community the precandidates to delegates to the great event of Cuban women that will take place next year, is a sample of participatory democracy, where also young people like Sheila Barredo Sánchez and Rosa María Rodríguez Cruz see their commitment materialized, because even adolescents are already part of the organization that represents them.

Juana Ávila Martínez was honored for her work at the FMC. The participants' interventions are a sign that the voice of women is not only a symbol, but also a sign of belonging and responsibility from the women's organization.

The confidence of the work of the organization from block 6 of the neighborhood of Pueblo Viejo, municipality of Calixto García in Holguin, allowed Ramira Parra Valdés to be ratified as a grassroots leader, in the same way encouraging a group of women who maintain an outstanding work in the tasks of the community and choose who can represent them in the direction of the work of the FMC in the municipality.
