The Telecommunications Company of Cuba (ETECSA), reported today about the advances experienced at the end of last year in a group of programs that contribute to the welfare of society and the population in general.
According to a bulletin published by the department of Institutional Communication of the entity, the main work strategies allowed the expansion of services and the impulse to the integration of telephony and data with the use of fixed and mobile networks.
In addition, he said, ensure the expansion of infrastructure that allows widespread use of the Internet and boost the deployment of broadband in the country, "among others.
In this regard, the information said, 395 new navigation areas were created; 46 wired navigation rooms and 349 Wi-Fi navigation spaces - 278 located in public places - which allowed access to the Cuba Network and internet.
With this, said the bulletin, the island has 1,552 seats for navigation, of them 595 Wifi public access in all its municipalities and the possibility of 125 thousand 460 simultaneous connections, 202 navigation rooms of ETECSA and 755 navigation areas of third parties.
The work of the institution, he said, decreased the overload and congestion in the access points and increased the speed of navigation which resulted in higher quality of service.
Also guaranteed a secure portal for authentication and start of session, made it possible to lower the rate to 10 cents CUC or two pesos CUP / hour of national navigation and reduce to a CUC international navigation time, he said.
According to the Telecommunications Company at the end of the period in question, they had one million 586 thousand active permanent accounts for navigation and they had commercialized more than 27 million temporary cards.
With the implementation of the Nauta Hogar service on September 29, it was possible, at the end of the year, to reach 14 thousand 634 homes, located in 103 municipalities and 256 People's Councils.
