Alfredo Masagué González is privileged to have seen the birth of an installation that for 17 years has filled the inhabitants of the neighborhood of Cuatro Caminos with pride: The Television Room.
Alfredo, who serves as general coordinator of the room, remembers with satisfaction the beginnings in this program of the Revolution: "In these seventeen years the workers of the Television Rooms were very marked by the struggle for the return of The Five, participating in the activities and discussions that were held in the municipality. In my case, I had the satisfaction of receiving a letter from the hero Antonio Guerrero, and my neighborhood hosted these activities on several occasions. "
This farmer, rooted in his homeland, adds: "How can I not remember in these years people who have been part of the work of the room, for their initiatives and for their participation in activities such as the peasant Jorge Muñoz González, who from his piece of land gives lessons of good Cuban to be the first in any call, parade, assembly, talks, and everything we do in our installation.
Masagué González highlights in his conversation the work of the creative woman in the community: "Highlight Ilda Pérez Almira and Marbelis Marín González, who have put their weaving creations in exhibitions in the hall, in Cultural Days and municipal events of the program of Television Rooms and outside the municipality ".
The workers of the room have achieved that the residents of the neighborhood join the initiatives that are carried out: "Madelaine Muñoz Mayo and Virgen Carralero Vázquez, mother and grandmother, respectively, join with an incredible enthusiasm, play like a few more girls".
In the conversation with Alfredo Masagué Gonzalez, a phrase became relevant: "On this 17th anniversary of the Television Rooms I want to thank eternally Fidel Castro for such a brilliant idea of creating this program that has brought so much happiness to the peasant families and has contributed to have greater access to information, recreation and culture. Eternally we will be grateful. "
