The epidemiological situation of the municipality of Calixto García in Holguin is stable, thanks to the work and experience of the group of Public Health workers in this territory.
This was stated by the radio station Minardo Ávila Parra, deputy director of the Municipal Hygiene and Epidemiological Center in "Calixto García".
"The focality of Aedes aegypti behaves so far this year with an index of infestation within the permissible limits. The health area of Buenaventura is the most affected, especially the blocks near the central highway due to the flow of transport from other territories with the presence of mosquitoes that are transported by means of motor vehicles that circulate in this locality ".
Ávila Parra said that "foci have been detected in tanks with water inside the houses, so we call on the population to contribute to the protection of these containers with any material that serves as a cover so that the mosquitoes do not lay their eggs.
"The country makes a large investment in resources to prevent the transmission of diseases by the Aedes aegypti, says the specialist, so it is our responsibility is to demand compliance with all measures to avoid these outbreaks."
On the support of the population in this battle, said the health director: "The population has cooperated either in the verification of the workers or when there are outbreaks. There is a temporary group that, at the municipal level, attends and follows the epidemiological situation of the municipality integrated by several organisms such as Public Health, Communal, Transport, Education, Aqueduct and others that support us, without which it would not be possible to win this battle for health of all. "
