To Not to let the Master’s ideas die, students, young people, political and governmental leaders, as well as part of the people paid tribute to the Apostle on the 165th anniversary of his birth with the traditional parade of the torches and a cultural political gala held in the Square of Youth, here in Buenaventura, in this municipality of Calixto García.
During the evening the declamation of poems dedicated to our National Hero was heard, as well as poems and songs performed by young members from the José Martí Art Instructors Brigade of the territory.
In the same way, there was a special moment of tribute and remembrance to our invincible and eternal Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, the most fervent José Marti’s follower of the Cubans and the architect that the ideas of the Master did not die.
Katia Valera Pavó, First Secretary of the Union of Young Communists in this municipality, said that the new generations keep alive the ideas of these two great men: "Today our children and young people follow the legacy of Martí, his ideas and his imprint, the same way that they were materialized by Commander Fidel Castro, today it is up to this new generation to transcend with the Marti ideals, plus the example of our unbeaten Fidel ".
Valera Pavó also pointed out the main activities carried out in the town to pay homage to the most universal of Cubans: "We held special meetings in all schools, a colloquium was held at the Rigoberto Mora Aguilera School Center, the Martian route was reissued carried out from the headquarters of the UJC to Leonor Pérez School, we welcomed in this stage the Martian Flame and the culmination of all the tribute we offered with the parade of the torches ".
Prior to this January 28, under the slogan With the light of his ideas, the initiative, which was developed in parallel in all the municipalities of the archipelago, also recalled the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, who 65 years ago played a leading role in the first pilgrimage that became a patriotic tradition among Cubans.
