Candidates for delegates to the provincial assembly of the Popular Power and deputies to the Cuban parliament (From left to right): Edel Piña, Nibaldo Martinez, Tamara Calzadilla, Yoandra Laguarda, Romny Perez, Inés María Infante, Eberto Martínez and Rafael Santiesteban.The Municipal Assembly of the Popular Power in Calixto García as part of its seventeenth mandate period nominated the candidates for delegates to the Provincial Assembly and deputies to the Cuban Parliament.
As established by the Cuban electoral law, the candidacy was presented this Sunday and then unanimously approved by the delegates through direct vote.
All those selected have as a common denominator appreciable qualities, values and merits in their broad labor, community and social agenda, as recognized by Rolando García Rivero, President of the Candidacy Committee.
As delegates to the Provincial Assembly, Inés María Infante, Eberto Martínez Aguilera, Edel Piña Ochoa, Nibaldo Martínez, Romny Pérez Rojas and Yaliet Peña Rodríguez were nominated.
In the same way as candidates for deputies to the Cuban Parliament, were elected Tamara Calzadilla Meriño, Rafael Santiesteban Pozo and Yoandra Laguarda Labrada.
Also in ordinary session the Municipal Assembly in the territory analyzed various issues on its agenda, including analysis and compliance with the plan of the economy and the budget of last year, as well as the proposal for 2018.
