This january 15 we celebrated the Day of Cuban science, with the pride of exhibiting first-world academic results and having a scientific potential that honors those who turned knowledge and research into a true teaching profession.

In this date, in 1960, our beloved and eternal Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz in the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the Speleological Society of Cuba, in the once Academy of Medical, Physical and Natural Sciences of Havana, delivered a historic speech where he expressed:

" The future of our country must be necessarily a future of men of Science, a future of men of thought." And from his words many years ago, was clear that the future of our country would depend on intelligence and knowledge.
 
From science, efforts and resources are concentrated in the production of food, in the computerization of society, in savings, in energy efficiency, in the substitution of imports, which generate useful and proven solutions based on scientific work and its use in the interest of the production of goods and services.

It is not a coincidence to find everywhere in any health center, school, or factory, excellent doctors, masters and specialists trained by our universities, who have graduated from their classrooms to thousands of highly trained professionals to provide their knowledge in Cuba and the world.

Merits to those who have been integrated for several years into the Forum of Science and Technology, a movement made up of creators and innovators in the country that offers an answer each year to dissimilar problems in work centers, factories, and production centers based on knowledge and scientific advances. -technological, in order to obtain quick solutions for the good of the economy and society.

We can not forget that we are a country blocked more than fifty years ago, which limits having resources, which sometimes depends on saving a life, and thanks to the Forum of Science and Technology is inserted in the search for useful solutions solve everyday problems and achieve such purposes.

That is why it is worth celebrating this day with creativity and collective intelligence, to solve the most incredible problems with the conviction that Science is now more necessary than ever to overcome the complex challenges facing the Cuban nation, and thus validate the legacy who is considered the best scientist: Fidel Castro Ruz.
