In the village of San Agustín de Aguarás the women integrated to the Federation of Cuban Women (Fmc) show that there is no social work without its protagonism, a fact that fills them with pride and commitment to continue defending the achievements they have achieved in the revolutionary process.
In a working meeting with representatives of the women's organization in the country, the young Iliana Zendón Ricardo, worker in the Tobacco Factory in that town, highlighted: "I have the privilege of having a secure, well-paid job, respect for my companions and the support of my family to contribute to the economy of my country ".
Sonia Marero, selected as outstanding in the work of the Fmc, combines her teaching profession with the tasks of the neighborhood of Las Guásimas, where there is a peasant cooperative that offers work opportunities to women: "I am fortunate, I could study, have a maternity leave to take care of my children, keep my job and now be part of the great achievement that is Cuban education. "
"The work of the organization that brings together Cuban women grows in all sectors of society and we owe that to the Revolution, to Fidel Castro and Vilma Espín, who made possible the opportunities we have," said Surina Acosta Broons, leader of the Fmc in the country.
