The elections in Cuba before the triumph of the Revolution meant a real business. My parents told me that those interested in occupying positions, and representing the parties in dispute, collected ballots in the neighborhoods in exchange for promises.

Is well known situations in which women assured childbirth in hospitals in exchange for collecting among the family the ballots that ensured the election or re-election, but in the end those who had more money and were more scoundrels were elected, almighty knight is Mr. Money, but when they reached the purpose they forgot the promises.

And what a difference! Now anyone can be proposed in his neighborhood to be delegate of constituency just enough merit, ability and commitment to the people.

That is why we should not attend the nominating or voting assemblies to choose a good type, with forgiveness of language and gender equality, but a special type of citizen, in addition to its moral neatness, by its political disposition .

It is necessary to remember that the positions of the People's Power are not chosen to behave well but to deploy a commandment that the people entrust with their vote, and that it must be honored with dignified disposition, as demanded by the electorate that is ultimately the people of each district, of each constituency.

In our country is elected to serve, and to exercise the mandate of the people who even has the right to revocation. Our democracy should by no means become formal as it is in many parts of the world. It must be  popular, to govern with the people and not for the people.

Now in this process, which began until September 30 throughout the country, we must nominate those who can truly represent us in the organs of Popular Power, and keep in mind the idea of Fidel Castro that "The power of the people, that yes it is power ".
