More than 7 thousand 185 inhabitants of the Holguin municipality of Calixto García will be immunized against Seasonal Influenza as part of the national campaign that takes place throughout the country.
As reported by the Directorate of Health in this territory the conditions are created to guarantee the vaccine to different population groups.
Ms. Misleidis Rodríguez Peña, Municipal Nursing Advisor, said: "Four vaccinations are available in the different health areas and the nursing staff of the 58 doctor's offices of the family are trained so that no patient is left without the vaccine."
The health representative in this municipality also referred to the support of the population to meet the vaccination against seasonal influenza at a hundred percent, a campaign started at the end of July and scheduled to conclude on September 30.
In the vaccination campaign against Seasonal Influenza, infants from six months to less than two years of age are receiving doses, pregnant women, institutionalized persons in nursing homes, grandparents' homes and psychopedagogical centers, as well as patients with chronic renal failure, Asthmatics.
Priority is also given to Type 1 diabetics, ranging in age from 18 to 24, patients older than 18 years with cerebral palsy and cystic fibrosis, chronic psychiatrists from hospital institutions, and poultry and livestock workers in this municipality.
Reducing affects on human health and preventing the spread of this disease is one of the objectives of this campaign that prioritizes the Cuban health system throughout the country.
