Each neighborhood has its history and in each place awaits anecdotes that maybe for some are part of the daily, however, for others are interesting and are discovered over time, ready to be told.

In the neighborhood of La Cuchilla, located one kilometer from the town of Sabanazo, these daily stories delight the visitors.

There I had the pleasure to meet again, because I have known him for some years, to Abelino Gómez Lopez, a true peasant in every inch, of those who have turned grey attached to the earth, and with the plow and machete have contributed to support his family.

To talk with this peasant who has been in these places for more than thirty years is to discover every corner of his life, to know his love for Fidel and for the Revolution, to know that he instills in his children and grandchildren the love for the land and that he always has his machete ready, ready for any contingency that endangers his Homeland.

No less interesting was to share with Arletis Palacio Batista, chatty and affable as the people of the countryside are, who has been working for two years as coordinator of the Television Room of La Cuchilla, and enjoys at every step the proposals she offers her neighbors, avoiding the day-to-day blur the smile and the desire to make life in the neighborhood more enjoyable.

Special was the meeting with the pioneer Keila Pérez Pérez, a second grade student at the José Raúl Pérez Méndez School, shy, low-voiced, but intelligent, diligent and assiduous visitor to the Television Room.

But the youthful charisma of good-natured people like Carlos Manuel Aguilera Bertolí and Yasiel Cruz Pérez, baseball fans, reminded me of a young man who, for reasons of destiny, is no longer in this world and who always welcomed us to La Cuchilla, the faithful listener Yordan Peña, we remember him, always smiling, sincere and like one of those people who walk happy in life enjoying every moment as if it were the only one.

The visit to the neighborhood of La Cuchilla is always pleasant, it is those places that leave us a taste of constancy and optimism and invites us to return and discover new stories, full of emotions that portray the life in the country and wait to be told .
