mujeres buenaventura5There are teachers who inspire feelings and contribute to forming convictions, especially in adolescents and young people and in moments of definitions of profiles, careers and futures.

As a student I always leaned for the letters, (nothing that had to do with Mathematics), and having the privilege of having good teachers greatly contributed to the fact that Spanish and Literature was my greatest motivation.

For that reason in the Day of the Spanish Language I proudly remembered excellent teachers in the Secondary School as Iraida Guevara, Eulalia Toppes, Nelda Rodríguez, Nirma Méndez, Nelba Almaguer, and later in the pre-university to Yasmina and Alexis Méndez.

With them I learned to know more about letters, verbs and conjugations ..., and I was trapped in the world of Cervantes, in the rhymes of Bécquer, in the drama of La Casa de Bernarda Alba and in the loves of Calisto and Meribea undermined by the perversities of the old Celestina, skilled in the art of undermining the wills of others. Undoubtedly, good teaching and the art of teaching defined my future pedagogical training.

With some of them, I later had the privilege of sharing knowledge in the classrooms, some of them giving prestige to education for more than thirty and forty years in the art of teaching.

Then in my academic career I also had the pleasure of having excellent teachers who with knowledge and experience were able to captivate my imagination and my wisdom. How not to remember the teacher Maricela Infante who with her charms showed us the way and instilled us to defend the ideal of Achilles, to the special Isabel Estopiñales who taught us to fall in love with the career and get into the world of great Spanish writers, to Maricela Meceguer, who with her magic and spell since the Cuban Literature helped to forge our convictions and be better people, and many others that we remember today with nostalgia and pleasure. To them my eternal gratitude for being there.

For this reason it is worth reflecting what we can do from our classrooms to teach good spelling and motivate our students to enter the world of letters and the alphabet.

Didactic strategies have to be designed with the objective that they give the teacher the opportunity to know the progress of their students in the teaching process and offer the opportunity to know what can be implemented or corrected so that the work with the mother tongue is successful. .

Teaching becomes an art, being a teacher enables us to be imaginative, to create and transform thinking of our students, love our language and instill in our students the love for it. Only then can we put in their hands the heritage that means to master our language.
