hotel brisas guardalavaca abgThe substitution of refrigeration equipment that hurt the environment constitutes one of the prioritized actions of the Hotel Brisas Guardalavaca in the province of Holguin.

Compressors that uses R-22 refrigerant, declared contaminating agent to the ozone layer by the Montreal Protocol, are being replaced in seven of the centers, winner of the 2016 National Environment Award.

Angel Ramirez, specialist of the institution, told ACN, that the measure is part of the Voluntary Declaration Accord for the elimination of toxic substances to the atmosphere among them bromine and fluoride, initiative that contributes to the protection of the ozone.

He added that other actions are implemented in the hotel like the replacement of lighting to the LED technology and low consumption contributing to saving energy.

As part of the work to protect nature, said Ramirez exhibition of ornamental plants and bonsai are held, as part of a new option for the clients, which mainly come from Canada, UK and Germany.

Brisas Guardalavaca has 407 rooms and constitutes one of the reference installations for the tourism sector in the eastern region.

The Montreal Protocol, is an international agreement signed by 198 nations and approved in 1989 by the UN for the gradual elimination of gases that contaminate the so called “Earth’s shield”.
