fitcuba pesqueroAs part of the International Tourism Fair, FitCuba 2017, representatives of the Tourism Ministry in Holguin province presented on Thursday the main projections for that northeastern Cuban jurisdiction to the tour operators and travel agencies all over the world attending the tourism event.

The representative of the sector in Holguin, Julio Cesar Naranjo, highlighted the natural resources as a distinctive element due to the variety of species of endemic flora and fauna.

Its coastal region makes up over 60 kilometers with 40 sites, reflection of its traditions and culture highlighting the beauty of its beaches like Guardalavaca, Pesquero Esmeralda and Don Lino.

He announced that they will begin executing the Corintia, Morales and the peninsula of Ramon de Antilla resorts whose location is practically virgin and they expect a capacity of lodging of over 19 thousand rooms by the year 2030.

The authorities in Holguin expect to inaugurate the first Ibero Star hotel in Pesquero beach resort next year in addition to Albatros in Guardalavaca and a growth of over 200 rooms at the Don Lino facilities in the coming years while the city of Holguin will rent out the Encanto Hotels.

Naranjo pointed out that the hotel offers are complemented with a variety of cultural options that includes, hunting, fishing and diving and a chance in visiting exceptionally historic sites like the indigenous cemetery, the largest found in the Caribbean and invites a visitor to learn about the customs and traditions of our ancestors.

Christopher Columbus wrote in his diary when he arrived at what he called Bahia de Mares (Bay of the Seas) and currently the coastal municipality of Gibrara: “the most beautiful land that human eyes has ever seen”.
